Arla continued to huddle in the corner.

Fire and blood and exploding tables! Chunks of...something flew by her. She continued to cry, tears staining the floor when it hit her.

She felt like her blood was on fire. She wrapped her arms around her body, trying to work through the pain. She shrieked again like a million swords had gone through her.

She looked up to see the last of the sunlight vanish.

Seeks rushed back downstairs shouting "I'll explain later! Now get girl! She's scared out of her wits!"

The Argonian then swept her spear underneath one of the aggressors, trying to hit his ankle.

The leader strode up silently as Kennek brought up his war hammer into an ally. A vicious kick was delivered to the chest, Kennek could feel the unnatural weight and strength of the kick. The man who had been hit with the flat fell over, coughing and pulling at his dented armor. The warhammer blow had pushed in the armor, causing him to have breathing issues.

He crawled, pulling at the armor towards the crying girl when he felt a sudden sharp pain in his forehead as Seeks' spear swept under a pair of armored men, knocking them over and dousing them with expensive brandy. They rolled about on the floor before starting after the Argonian women again. The crawling man laid still, a bloody mark on his unconscious head.

Outside, Nightshade found himself in a tangled mess with the attackers. They grunted but kept up remarkable composure as they began twisting to attack the agile Dunmer. One fell to the ground as his throat was slit but Nightshade found his sword being deflected by one attacker in particular. The woman turned his blade and started pulling him into an arm bar, displaying obvious skill at wrestling.

The fireball streaked toward the healer, heat melting the snow beneath it when the healer brought up his glowing hand, a ward appearing. The fireball struck only to dissipate into the shield of magicka.

In response, the healer raised his hand skyward, a series of blue sparks shooting forth. Several bright flashes in the twilight and more footsteps of armored men could be heard.

More were coming. Soon the attackers would begin to overwhelm the tavern patrons.

"Oh you have got to be kidding me." He growled as he quickly brought his other arm up, stabbing twice into the woman's gut, before he spun out of her hold. "Plan B!" He shouted before he promptly streaked away into the closest alleyway. There was simply no way for him to fight so many people; he'd have to bottle neck them. As he ran, he coated his blades in a poison.

Kennek did indeed catch the kick directly to the chest, but frankly he wasn't in the mood to continue this fight. He saw all the people rushing into the inn for... whatever reason. He simply backed up, picked up a chair, then threw it at freakman. He looked at Arla, all huddled in a corner. "Hey," Kennek yelled out, "we're leavin' girlie!" He went over to the trembling woman and flung her over his shoulder. "Seeks, need a route here!"

Seeks grinned. "My pleasure."

She then dragged the brandy-soaked men to the wall and set them alight. "Everybody stand back!"

Some part of Arla noted she was being lifted up but when more of the men ran in she saw something, the source of her pain.

Moonlight streaming in.

She screamed, no, howled and through herself off Kennek. She fell onto the floor, convulsing. Her back wrenching so violently the dress tore at the spine.

"HELP ME! Help! AUGHHH!"

Tears stream from red eyes. Her limbs lengthen painfully as her blonde hair darkens, the peach fuzz over her body growing.

Seeks stood staring at the transforming girl, her jaw hanging open. As she stood, she flashed back to her days studying Daedra at the Mage's College of Mournhold. She muttered "Lycanthropy... Hircine..."

She then came to her senses and screamed at Kennek, "We need to get as far away from her as possible, Kennek! Run!"

The dunmer took refuge in an alleyway, winding around a few times before he hid behind some barrels. He could hear some shouts coming from the tavern, unsure whether or not the attackers were surrounding them. But he couldn't go off to help them, with no less than six on his tail. So Nightshade did the best he could, taking out his bow, waiting for the last person to pass his hiding place, then let an arrow fly into the back of their head. Even before the person fell, the dunmer was on the move back to the tavern.

Kennek looked at the writhing girl on the floor, eyes wide as her limbs stretched out, muscles grew thicker, and fur grew in tangled, rough patches. He backs away from the woman slowly, hands on his hammer. "Arla...? Arla, girl!"

Seeks screamed at him, the woman sounding genuinely frightened for once. This was serious. He went over to his companion and nodded. For a moment, he looked back at Arla. Kennek began to knock down the eastern wall of the tavern as fire spread through the inn. "Dammit, dammit, dammit!" Each shout was punctuated by an orcish warhammer smashing into wood at least a foot thick. "Seeks, this is why you need to learn some fuckin' enchantment- ah to Oblivion with it, we'll argue later!"

"Can we help the girl?!"

Seeks stood looking nervously between Arla and Kennek, noticing that there was hardly a dent in the surprisingly sturdy wood. "Aaaargh! This is taking too long! Through the window! Use your hammer to vault yourself if you have to! We need to get out of here as fast as possible!" She then looked nervously back at the girl and spoke, her voice full of pity. "Girl... Arla... We'll look for you in the morning. You deserve some truth."

She then used her spear as a fulcrum to vault through the window herself through the window, kicking the glass out as she went.

Kennek quite simply leaped through the window, his muscled body and heavy armor easily shattering the glass. He grunted, the wind knocked out of him as he rolled along the ground, several shards of glass clanking off his scales - though a particularly large one got in near his horn. "Fuckin' ow."

He got up from his position on the ground and rushed to Seeks, throwing the woman over his shoulder. "This is some bullshit, I hope you realize!"

At this point not caring that she was being held like sack of potatoes, Seeks replied, "Trust me. It's nothing compared to what would have happened had we not escaped fast enough. Plus, I doubt she'll be able to fit through the window after that transformation is complete. This way she has fewer escape routes."

The figures she cried out to disappeared from her view. She felt something big snap inside her. She couldn't keep fighting it. It was too strong.

Winds from the fire whipped over her fur. She stood up from her knees, the blessing of Hircine coursing through her.

She looked at the attackers and let out a long unearthly howl that carried across Bruma.

Kennek eventually came to something resembling two Nordic halls - unknown to him, the remains of the old Fighters Guild and Mages Guild of Bruma.

Setting down Seeks, he grunted as the glass in his head finally caught up to his senses - namely, blistering pain. Grabbing ahold of the chunk embedded under his scales and beneath his flesh, he pulled as firmly as he could, roaring out in pain as it came out with a splatter of blood on the snow. He tossed the shard aside and slumped against the Mages Guild, panting with exertion. "Fuckin'... Oblivion were those guys? Just kept comin', and comin'... where's the city guard?! Fucking assholes should have been there by now!" He slammed a plated fist against the wood, snarling. "I should have stayed to help! Poor girl is probably dead by now... I should have grabbed her, should have... should..."

The blood from his head ran freely, caking inbetween scales and decorating the snow in a rather large amount. "...I'm a bit dizzy..."

That was when he heard the howl, some unholy mix of Man and wolf, echo throughout Bruma. If that didn't get the attention of the guards, nothing would. "...am... am I hearin' thin's now?" He slurred.

The Dunmer was caught by three of the attackers, and he was fighting them off as best as he could in the dark. His poisoned blades caught between plating, sinking into the flesh of one, but the others took this as an opportunity to attack him. An axe cut into his leg, and he growled in pain.

All of them froze when they heard the horrible, terrifying howl. The visible faces of his attackers paled notably. Nightshade privately thought that it sounded almost familiar. Two of his attackers broke off, and rushed towards the source, deeming it a much bigger threat. Nightshade casually killed the last one, and ran in the opposite direction, gritting his teeth at the pain shooting up his leg.

Like he would be stupid enough to head to a werewolf.

Seeks grabbed Kennek's head, a white-gold light emanating from her palm. "Hold still. I need to practice my healing anyw..."

Then came the howl. Her features darkened. "That, Kennek, would be the girl you're so worried about. She can take care of herself, at least for tonight. We need to find her in the morning, however, which won't be an easy talk. Trust me."

She stood and entered the nearest hall, the Mage's Guild. As she passed through the door, she stopped and turned to Kennek. "Are you coming in? The more walls between us and her the better."

"Yeah, yeah..." Kennek followed Seeks into the guild hall, stumbling a bit as he still recovered from the blood loss, as well as the tingling on his healed head wound. He slumped over the front desk to the guild, knocking away more then a few combwebs and dried, centuries old inkwells. "...well, so much for havin' fun. Less you got suggestions?"

There was a Daedra beast in Bruma.

The man leading the attack quickly pulled back as the beast appeared before him. Grabbing any of his surviving men, they started fanning the flames before leaving the bar.

Wordlessly they watched the front door, waiting for the beast to burn.

Seperated from their targets, the attackers paired up, quietly searching for Kennek and Seeks.

The Healer quickly took care of the wounded. Thinking specifically of the wrestler, he did his best to recall the face of the dunmer.

Guards did indeed show up at the site of the burning tavern, the Leader sharing a few words and alerting them to the fact that a were beast inhabited their city.

He did not panic, they did not overreact.

Seeks looked at Kennek and shook her head. "No. We need to make as little light and noise as possible. Hopefully she'll lose our scent in the noise of the city. All we can do is hope those people don't overwhelm her."

She grabbed a dusty chair and made herself sat. "You see, Kennek, Arla is a Lycanthrope. Lupine if I had to take a guess. She is incredibly dangerous in her current state, but she'll return to normal in the morning, and we have to find her before they do."

She got up and started moving upstairs. "Come on, it'll be safer upstairs. Plus, we can try to see if we can find some old clothes for Arla. She'll likely be nude when we find her."

With the attackers gone, but the Guard alerted of a werewolf about, no doubt the town would be sealed off while they took care of it. That meant that there were few places for him to escape to. He recalled reading in some old texts that some Mages Guild halls allowed for transport between guild halls.

He hoped this was true now.

Silently, the dunmer made his way through the streets, making sure to keep an eye out for any attackers. Any time he ran into a loner, he would sneak up and cut their throats. Otherwise, he let them be. Before long, he was at the decrepit guild hall, and opened the creaky doors as quietly as he could, making sure to keep an eye out for guards or those crazed fighters.

Another bone chilling howl spilled from the now fully engulfed tavern.

Arla sniffed the air and snorted out smoke. She didn't like smoke. She didn't like being in here. She growled and went to the front door. Punching out part of the barricade she stuck her head out only to whip it back inside.

Several thunks on the other side of the wall mapped out where the arrows had hit. She growled, narrowly avoiding a falling beam. This was a bad place.

A whiff of fresh air and she spotted an open window. Leaping to the wall, she crawled out.

Free! Her tail wagged before she smelled something else. Blood. Her eyes narrowed and she leapt off into the darkness. The occasional scream punctuating the night.

The streets of Bruma were not safe tonight for anyone.

Another mauled patrol was found, this one nearer to old Bruma.

Kennek nodded, following Seeks up the stairs. The old guildhall still bore the scars of some conflict from what must have been centuries ago. Kennek lifted a beam away, putting it aside and walking into what looked like an office and a bedroom. He opened an old wardrobe and knocked the cobwebs from some sort of green and purple robe. "Yeesh. Cyrodil has some weird ideas of what looks good." He put the robe in front of his body, chuckling and swaying his tail suggestively. "Think I'd look good in this, Seeks?" He grinned, trying to lighten the mood.

The state of the Mages Guild made Nightshade frown. Chances were, he wasn't going to find any sort of teleport, spell or anything else. The dunmer sighed and wondered if he should simply hide out here or move on to try and find another exit.

...Well, Cities usually had a back door out. If there wasn't one in the castle...at the very least there might be documents on it. And the best place would be in this decrepit hall. Nightshade started to wander, still crouched and trying to keep out of view, trying to find any books or scrolls that time had not destroyed.

The woman looked over Kennek, then to the robe, then back to Kennek smirking. "Not quite there, ki..." A small noise came from downstairs. Her voice dropped to a barely audible levels. "Wait. Someone's in the building. Shut up and don't move. Your armor is noisy and could give us away. It's not the girl, it would have been much noisier, but it could still be those nutcases that attacked the tavern, and we don't want to draw attention to ourselves because we could still attract her."

She then moved as quietly as she could to the corner of the room out of sight of the door.
