Kestrel had only just earned the right to hunt contracts, she wasn't going to be sent after Jarls and bandit lords yet... if the contract was one that would fall into the "out of your league, go give it to one of your elders" she would have to return to the sanctuary a message and not a kill. Kestrel wasn't sure what she hopped for, but she knew that she would be teased relentlessly by her siblings if that happened.

The area was popular with hunters this time of year according to the tavern owner she talked to in the next village over. All the better, no one would think twice about a person saying they were here to get some game to sell when there were already so many passing though. When a hunter passing through was part of the ordinary, one of the many that did wouldn't be remembered.

It didn't take long to figure out where the client would likely be, the locals were gossiping about how he would leave the village at night and not return until dawn. Kestrel therefore assumed that he was going to the site where he summoned the family. One didn't perform the Black Sacrament openly, it was stupid on too many levels to count. The evidence would be obvious wherever it was done, so it was doubtful he would preform it in his own home. That meant somewhere outside the village, where people would be reluctant to go, even the hunters passing though.

The abandoned old house about a twenty minute walk from the edge of the village? The one rumored to be haunted by the locals and made clear to the young huntress that she should avoid it or face the wrath of ghosts? Near the area where the game actually worth money didn't usually go, so there were no hunter camps nearby? Kestrel was willing to be all her coin that he was there.

And sure enough, there was a light shining in one of the lower floor windows.

'There you are...now to get the contract.'

And make an entrance worthy of a member of the Dark Brotherhood of course.

There was a hole in the second story wall, and a tree right next to it. Using a strong gust of wind as cover for any noise, Kestrel was up the tree and on the second floor in moments. Making sure to move as quietly as possible, she made her way to the top of the stairs. Making sure that the cowl still covered her face, Kestrel stood up and started to descend the stairs, still making sure to be quiet.

From her vantage point, Kestrel got a good look at the client. No armor, not too surprising, and he only had a simple woodcutters axe and what looked like a cheese knife on his belt to defend himself. The man, who was barely of age to be called that, had the height of a Nord, that much was certain, but clearly not the muscle that the natives of Skyrim all seemed to proud to have.

And Kestrel was willing to bet that he couldn't grow a proper beard if he tried.

A cursory glance around, and Kestrel mentally noted several escape routes in case things got messy. And, just as she had deduced, the black sacrament had been performed on the floor.

"Huren Mill..." The young man jumped slightly and whirled around, apparently he expected her to enter through the front door. "You've called for the Brotherhood, and I have come."

Mill whirled around and stared wide eyed at the Dark Brotherhood member before him. "Where...how...I didn't..."

Kestrel leaned against the wall and idly spun her dagger as if she didn't have a care in the world. Predictably, this caused Mill to fall silent. Looking over her mask at the Nord, Kestrel gripped the handle of her dagger and asked one simple question. "Who do you want dead, and where can I find them?"

Mill, who still had a dumbfounded look on his face took a few moments to speak. "Wyatt...Wyatt, the leader of that gang of so called highwaymen five miles outside of town. You see he..."

Really, you're going to give me a personal motivation for this and risk being caught talking to a member of the Dark Brotherhood?

"...fancies the same girl I do. And over the past few months..."

Kestrel only got the location after listening to the entire lengthy explanation of why Mill wanted the target dead. She didn't want to hear it. She didn't want to know about the girl they both held affection for. She didn't want to hear how Mill already had the most success with the girl. How he was the one that had the most approval from her family, but he just wanted to make sure he had no competition when it came to her hand.

Kestrel didn't want to hear the utterly stupid reason why the target had to die.

It took her the entire ride to the supposed hide out to distance herself from what she was doing. Don't think about the reason Kestrel. He just has to die. You don't know him, you feel nothing for him.

You'll just be his death.
