A series of indecipherable scribbles and scratches mar the page. Rather than any tangible words, only frayed cuts and indentation of teeth scar the parchment. Beneath the scratches, though, etches of magic appear, as the nature of the magic tome attempts to make sense of the marks.

More scratches claw at the pages. Though they follow no pattern, and are obviously no substitute for a written language, the ledger still sees enough intelligence in the creature's actions to translate.
