[Outside Cheydinhal] When animals attack!

Following the roads down from Bruma and heading towards Cheydinhal, life seemed pretty good. Back in Cyrodiil, no Lizards, no stupid Vigilants, no Thalmor. Just birds chirping and a decent amount of rare meat in her pack. She had always been alright with the bow but lately things seemed to click. It just started becoming easier. Almost overnight to be fair. Bad dreams plagued her still but she had learned how to hide them and tended to start ignoring them.

The road continued onward, Arla passing time by jumping from rock to rock. It was slower but there was no hurry. A couple miles passed before she brought her nose up to the sky. She smelled something funny. It wasn't bad or good smelling but it seemed to call to her. She draws the bow and rushes into the woods without a second thought.

It was a scent that called to her like in her dreams. The closer she got and the more it smelled. A few more steps in and a high pitched sound helped her locate the source further. Something was calling to her and she just had to see it.

Maybe it was him again...

Standing upwind and hidden in the environment, two Vigilants watched the daedric creature in silence. A distance away, their fellows were already preparing the trap. Judging by how the girl rushed off in the direction, she had taken the bait. The daedric hunters stalked after the girl, making sure that they did not make noises that would cause them to be caught.

At the trap site, four more Vigilants were hiding in wait in the trees, their silver weapons dulled with dirt so that they would not gleam in the light. In the centre of the grove, they had done their best to emulate a ritual to the Prince of Hunt. A gutted deer was dangling over a smoky cherrywood fire, and wolf hides were strewn about in a careful circle. Implements of the hunt were also set close to the fire, a simple hunting bow and a bloodied arrow. The fats of the deer were already hissing as they touched the flame, and it was only a matter of time until they got their signal.

Near one of the Vigilants, there was a soft clatter, which he quickly silenced by closing his hand around the wood squares. She was within hearing range, so he started to whisper, to draw her further in. "Yes, child...come...The Prince of Hunt beckons you..." He spoke in a low stage whisper, to draw the girl towards the site.

The source of the smell was absolutely divine. She almost sank to her knees at how beautiful it was after a long day of hiking.

A slight whistle nearly made her bolt but the meaning. The hunt. It was what she wanted. She didn't have to stay and worship or anything but she could just have a little bit and say thanks.

She probably had to get used to these sorts of things happening. A Daedra had picked her after all. It was something that she was kinda stuck to. Could have been worse. She thought of the other Gods. Much worse.

Following a well worn path, Arla hurries in, senses dulled by the smoky wood and the aromatic plants.

She grabs the rope hanging the deer, ready to haul it down and snack for a bit. She sets down the bow and speaks. "Thank you..."

The girl was crouching already to pray to the fake shrine, so the vigilants prepared their attack. The six had already set in a circle around the grove, the three that could see her already notching dirtied silver arrows.

"Child...the hunt begins." The one who was pretending to be Hircine hissed, giving the signal to the others. All three of them let their arrows fly at Arla's direction, while the other half charged forward with silver weapons.

Her ears visibly pricked up when she heard the twang of the arrow being released. Dropping to the ground, she was quick enough to avoid two of them but the third lodged itself in her shoulder.

Almost immediately, fire flew through her veins. She had never felt the bite of an arrow before and with the silver and wolfsbane hitting her blood. She felt sluggish and wanted to throw up.

She grabs the arrow in her shoulder, tugging once before nearly blacking out. Arla sees the harsh glare of silver swords before simply falling back and passing out.

The three attackers didn't even need to come close to the daedric creature; the second they came within three meters, the werewolf fell, allowing them to sheathe their weapons. The silver arrow was still stuck in her, no doubt poisoning her still. They ignored it, as one went forward and picked up one of the two that missed. He sunk it into her leg, then hefted her up over his shoulder.

"The creature is in our hands. Look for her ledger, and come next week, it will be in our possession."
