[The Orange Road, Glademist Cave] Licking their wounds

Seeks looked at Arla and smiled deviously. "We do have a silver-tongued Imperial with us now. Perhaps she can help."

Arla raises a brow and smiles "I'll do my best!" A large hunk of meat in her teeth. 'I'll probably need some clothes and a shower to do that though. I don't want to look like a waif or anything." She looks over herself.

"I think the only thing I have to wear are bandages and blankets..."

"Better get used to it," Kennek added, licking a bit of meat from between his sharp teeth. "Can't draw attention by looking too opulent."

He looked at Seeks next, his good eye twinkling a bit. "Not that you don't look opulent, m'dear."

Kennek began to scratch as his bandages, and he grunted. "Time to change these."

Seeks shook her head at Arla. "That damned Vigilant stole our belongings, so we're broke. We can barely afford basic amenities with what Kennek and I happened to keep on our persons back in Bruma, let alone fancy dresses. You don't have to convince them that you're a noble or something like that. We just have to talk a dock worker into sneaking us onto the cargo deck."

She raises her brow. "If you are thinking of feeding me to the wolv- to the...I don't know, slaughterfish, then you are mistaken. I'm not gonna try and talk up from this station. Why don't we just go find some clothes so I don't look like a damn Imperial slave with Argonian escorts."

She clenched her jaw, slightly irritated "Please explain how you want me to get us up on a ship if I'm dressed only in bandages?"

She sat back, arms crossed. "And for the record, my things burnt up because nobody grabbed them....Though I suppose there were abnormal circumstances so never mind."

She had just enough energy after her rant to ugh at Kennek's bandages.

Seeks made a noise somewhere between a hiss, a grunt, and a sigh. "Fine. We'll find a clothier in Hammerfell. I will not pay for anything more than three septims, and I will not steal anything. Nor will you. Nor will Kennek."

Turning to Kennek, Seeks' hands began to glow and she pressed them onto the wound. "I'm no healer, but this should at least dull the pain while you put on some fresh bandages."

"You're a darlin', Seeks. I'll just go change this now."

Kennek got up from his sitting position and reached into a pack. He grabbed some bandages and made his way out of sight from the two women, preferring to do this alone.

He valued his pride, after all, and he'd rather not let them hear him relive getting scale, bone, and tendon stabbed right through.

She sat quietly, pleased with finally getting her way. Three Septims was just about what she expected really and didn't feel the need to haggle further with her.

Actually, she followed Seeks eye's as Kennek left.

A very specific type of grin on her face, she looked at Seeks.

"Are you two...I dunno what you call it in Argonian, are you in a relationship?"

Seeks, glad she wasn't a human (because if she were, she'd be bright red), stared at Arla not entirely sure what to say. The answer to that question was more nebulous than she cared to admit, even to herself. After a moment, she realized that she was sitting there looking like an idiot and needed to say something. "What? No! That lunk? Of course not!"

She reflexively fiddled with her amulet, avoiding eye contact.

The unwrapping of his bandages was mostly uneventful - beyond feeling the echos of the stab that had pierced his skull and eye, dead skin and dried blood coming off along with the cloth. He winced as fresh blood poured from the wound.

Kennek looked at a pool of water that had collected in the cave, illuminated by some nearby mushrooms. He sighed, shaking his head as he looked at the hole that once contained his eye.

He unwrapped the bandages, beginning to put it around the socket and head, grunting as cloth made contact with flesh and bone.

Better to be clean than comfortable.

"Wow...that was a really really true sounding statement." A smug look on her face "Silence followed by rapid denial isn't a good way to sound honest."

She picked at her bandages, glad too see she was healing up pretty well. She looked under them. Everything seemed to be in order.

"Can you do some of that healing stuff here?"

She scooches over to Seeks

"Yes, yes. Here." She put her glowing hands under the bandages.

"We never had this conversation about Kennek. Okay?"

Kennek would be gone awhile longer. He began to make sure the bandages weren't soggy or ripped from his claws, and he sighed as he did his own busywork.

Ladies talking about him was the last time on his mind. Maybe.

"So I can't refer to him as a lout anymore? Or tell him you said that he was one?"

She grins before jerking back a little. "It's now doing anything..." The glow from her hands just simply dissipated into her skin, nothing was healing.

"Is this something new? I've never been healed by magic before..."

"No, nothing new. I'm just not a trained healer and don't have a large amount of training in the school of Restoration. The best someone of my abilities can do is dull your pain and stave off infection and there aren't any plants here for me to make a healing salve. I would have healed you a long time ago if I could."

She removed her hands from the bandages and began unwrapping them. "I might as well change these while we're at it."

Taking some bandages from the same spot Kennek got his, Seeks began wrapping Arla's wounds tightly. "And feel free to make fun of him. I do it all the time."

Kennek came back.

He promptly collapsed on a bedroll and began to sleep, fresh bandages having far less blood on them.

Seeks watched the other argonian then returned her gaze to Arla's wounds. "He has the right idea, we should probably get to sleep as well. We ride at dawn and it's never a good idea to ride while drowsy. Though, I do understand if you don't want to sleep; I imagine you've had enough of it by now. Feel free to nudge me if you need something. Just don't wake Kennek; he gets ornery, if you hadn't noticed."

With that, she finished up the last of the bandages and made her way to her bedroll.

Arla leaned back on her mat. She harumphed a little before laying down, if just to give the impression of not liking being told what to do.

In all honesty, she was just afraid to close her eyes again.

"Night"

She laid there in the cave, listening to whatever creatures slept nearby. Her eyes didn't close.
