[Cheydinhal, Cyrodiil] The Hunt

"LITTERERS, IF WE WISHED TO BE SPECIFIC!"

Kennek proceeded to, oddly enough, slam the guard across the face with a chair as hard as he could, then toss him out the door. He then jammed a chair through the window he just broke, slammed the door shut, and rushed upstairs - directly into the path of two Vigilants of Stendarr. "Piss." He muttered, tossing the elf head at one of them as hard as he could like it was a twenty pound stone.

The other he just rushed at and tried to bash his face in with his shield. "WE NEED TO GET GOING!" He shouted at Seeks.

"DAMNIT! WHY DID YOU COME BACK HERE OF ALL PLACES!?"

Seeks leaped down to the street, her strong, reptilian legs bearing the brunt of the fall; behind her, the heat of the rune's blast had started a fire on the roof of the building. That should distract them for a while...

She sprinted after Kennek, throwing an occasional fireball behind her as she did.

"I DIDN'T KNOW WHERE ELSE TO FUCKIN' GO, WOMAN! YOU TRY THINKING WHEN THE WHOLE DAMN CITY'S PISSED OFF AT YOU!"

Kennek sprinted as fast as he could in his armor, muttering curses and obscenities under his breath, heavy steel clanking against stone as he moved. He felt his lungs burn as he breathed heavily, panting, almost out of breath. He was running on pure adrenaline now.

"We need horses!"

The guards chased after the two fleeing argonians, the altmer fighter now nowhere in sight. "STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM!" The captain shouted, dodging the fireball tossed by Seeks. Half of the guards paused, deftly removing their bows from their backs and notching arrows. Six ebony rods arched through the air, all trying to hit the running targets.

Well piss.

Kennek was actually surprised that they'd packed heavy enough ammunition to pierce the steel of his plate armor. He grimaced as one of the arrows sunk deeply into his right elbow, fracturing the ulna and fixing the arm at a 90 degree angle. He yells and curses, blinded by pain.

Another shot shatters his right shin, Kennek crumpling to the ground with a soft groan. Searing pain shoots through his body, lying on his side. He hisses and roars as guards surrounded him.

The guards wasted no time falling upon Kennek. Four of them swiftly grabbed at his limbs, pinning him and preventing his escape, while the rest continued to fire at Seeks.

Seeks made a valiant effort in an attempt to escape. Bobbing, weaving, deflecting arrows. But all was for naught as three of the missiles struck her; first in the shoulder, then the leg, then back.

She fell to the ground, impotent to do anything but put up a feeble struggle as the guards surrounded her and carried her away.

With two caught, the guards lifted Seeks and Kennek up, intending on bringing them to the Cheydinhal dungeons. They had already lost one elf, and they knew not the existence of the other. To the guards, they had completed their task and peace would return to the city.
