Bah, throwing spears are much better for breaching thick armour.

I've been drifting around Tamriel for two decades now, and I am still amazed at just how versatile a simple spear can be.

You and me both, with the right tip and shaft they're the best killing instrument you could ask for. Admittedly their biggest drawback is that if someone removes the head with a sword you're left with little more than a stick.
